It may seem like there is nothing worse than feeling bad about yourself for missing your gym session, but in fact, being less fit MAKES you less fit. According to Christopher Wharton, PhD from the Rudd Center for Food Policy, 10 pounds of muscle burns 50 calories in a day spent at rest, while 10 pounds of fat would burn 20 calories. Fit girls can be happier and more confident knowing that all that work they put into the gym every day is paying off, even when they’re just hanging out.
